Local Lifestyle

Locals in Snowmass live an incredibly active lifestyle – thanks to the over 90 miles of hiking and biking trails and a surrounding of 14,000 foot peaks. The terrain here is a vast playground for all ages. Snowmass’ parks are a great place for family and friends to gather, with playgrounds, dog parks, and plenty of shopping and dining options to explore. Like most mountain towns in Colorado, the locals of East Snowmass come alive in the winter months. Snowmass’ terrain isn’t all black-diamonds – there are plenty of snowy landmasses to enjoy no matter the experience level.

Snowmass’ young family vibe makes it a versatile and family-friendly place that offers something for everyone. Locals are friendly with each other, and many of the events here focus on community-building. The laid-back lifestyle is perfectly suited for artists, musicians, and athletes. Perhaps this is why Snowmass Village feels like home for anyone who resides here.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

There are endless activities and opportunities for shopping and entertainment for the whole family at Snowmass Mall. Stop by the Viceroy Hotel, kitchen, and lounge that is known for its contemporary Latin dining.

Meet some friends at JÜS, a juice bar in Snowmass Base Village for some healthy fuel, (like cold-pressed juices, smoothies, burrito bowls, and wraps) then head out for a hike or bike ride and enjoy the wildflowers that bloom in spring. Finish your evening at Il Poggio, an innovative Italian restaurant, and dine on sweet potato ravioli or truffle gnocchi. If you’re not ready to head home yet, you can stop by Venga Venga for an authentic Mexican experience with a collection of over 75 tequilas and mezcals, and handcrafted margaritas.

Things to Do

For a truly unique Snowmass Village experience, why not try out a dogsled ride? Krabloonik Dogsled Rides offers winter activities including ATV Safari Rides and, of course, dog sledding rides. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will be right in your backyard, set against the gorgeous backdrop of the Colorado Rockies.

If you’re an artist looking for an excellent studio space, check out the Anderson Ranch Arts Center. Anderson’s space is over 55,000 square feet and includes artist work studios, workshops for classes, galleries, and spaces for guest speakers to lecture and artists in residence programs. If you’ve got a taste for more adrenaline-fueled events, then go Mountain biking at the IMBA Gold Ride Center or see what the mid-mountain adventure center, The Lost Forest, has to offer.

During the summer, the Free Concert Series showcases live music in a kid-friendly environment. This tradition of 29 years is a must-do summer event. Bring a picnic blanket, buy some drinks on-site, and relax amongst a mountain backdrop as the sun sets and makes way for a sky full of stars. In winter, grab s'mores at S’mass S’mores and visit the Collective, Snowmass’ epicenter and newest neighborhood, which offers a place for the community to get together and enjoy excellent meals, drinks, and plenty of activities.
